V.N.Kopylov House. Works are continued.

Тhe human destinies and history of the two countries, Russia and the United States intertwined inexplicably. Thanks to it, the “Preservation of the Russian House in the Russian North” Project appeared. V. N. Kopylov house from Korostelevo village appeared in the museum "Semenkovo" following the results of this project implementation.

The results of the project were summed up on October 16. Recently the museum received the long-awaited guest from Philadelphia - Igor A. Kiselev. He is a member of the Union of restorers of Russia, a member of Academy of Sciences of the USA, the founder of the museum “Wallpaper in the Cultural Context”.

The friendship with the expert began in 2014, when questions arose about unusual papered interiors of the peasant house, in the late 19th century. And at this time one of Igor Kiselev's books «Russian wallpaper of the three past centuries (18-20th)" came to hands of the museum workers. We sent the letter to the expert to the USA and received the answer. We begin to correspond with the author.

Distance between Russia and the USA isn’t a hindrance to research of wallpaper. Igor A. Kiselev dated the wallpaper preliminarily based on introduced photos. He paid attention to the fact that the colorful structure of blue color on the wallpaper existed in the third quarter of the 19th century. According to the researcher yellow wallpaper existed since the mid 19th century to the mid 20th century.

By a lucky chance Igor A. Kiselev was in Russia in the autumn of 2014. And he agreed to come to Vologda (Vologda Open Air Museum “Semenkovo”).

The researcher examined the house carefully and was under the impression of it. He was very glad because of preserved wallpaper fragments on the walls and ceiling of various periods.

Igor A. Kiselev said, “Now there is a perfect exposition which is made naturally on the second floor and it’s not necessary to correct it.” According to him, it’s useful and interested to use our imagination sometimes.
During the conversation with him the further ways of the research related with study of wallpaper, door and window furniture were planned. Besides the variants of house museumification using multimedia installations and prospects for cooperation were considered.
